The Romans
Last week, we started working on our new topic: the Romans and their influence in Britain.
We learnt what country the Romans came from, what they were good at, what were some of the countries they invaded to build their empire, and some of the things they brought to Britain.
We also found out the name of one of their most famous leaders: Julius Caesar.

Here's some examples of their excellent research work:

They built theaters to have shows for people.
They invented the scale as we know it.
Going to the coliseum was like going to the theatre, to the Romans.
Only men could join the Roman army.

Men in the army had to be at least 20 years old.

The biggest battle of the "British campaign" was fought on the banks of the river Medway, close to Rochester.
The river Thames was a quick way to reach the sea and export goods from Britain to the main continent.
The Romans were very clean people. For example, they invented sewers.
The Romans used dogs to keep their households safe.
The Romans were amazing architects and engineers.
